Precautions for daily use of front shock absorber
Author:
Timely clean up the sediment in the stroke section
The dust cover and oil seal of the shock absorber are rubber parts, and the lip design can meet the daily dust-proof needs. However, long-term contact with sediment particles will still wear the dust cover and oil seal, and oil leakage failure will occur in serious cases.
During use, the sediment on the surface of the shock absorber should be cleaned in time to ensure that the stroke section of the fork rod is clean, to prevent sediment from invading and damaging the fork rod and oil seal, and to extend the service life of the shock absorber.
Sediment Cleaning Precautions
Clean the silt on the surface of the fork rod and the dust cover with tap water, and then wipe it clean with a soft cloth;
It is forbidden to use acidic or alkaline liquid for cleaning to avoid corrosion.
If the mud splashes on the surface of the fork rod is not cleaned in time, it will have strong adhesion after drying, which can easily damage the oil seal and dust cover, and even form deep scratches on the surface of the fork rod. Special attention should be paid to it!
Regular anti-rust treatment of fork rod
Fork rod surface using double nickel-chromium process, with good anti-rust ability, normal use will not appear rust. If the vehicle is stored in a humid and unventilated environment for a long time, or the air in the area where it is used is high in salt (seaside area), rust spots will appear on the fork rod, and serious rust spots will damage the oil seal and cause oil leakage.
Regular cleaning of the surface of the fork rod and anti-rust treatment can effectively prevent the fork rod from rusting and extend the service life of the shock absorber.
